Safeguarding at Grace City Church
We want everyone who is part of the Grace City Church community to be able to participate and thrive in a safe environment, whether they are taking part in the activities we organise, benefiting from the services we provide or just visiting one of our events. We have robust policies and procedures in place to help protect children and adults at risk of abuse or exploitation.
Our safeguarding policy sets out how we recruit and check the suitability of our staff and volunteers and make sure they are trained to recognise, report and respond to safeguarding concerns, allegations or disclosures, in line with our written Safeguarding Procedures. By implementing our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, training our staff and volunteers and raising awareness amongst our members and across the wider Grace City community, we aim to create a safeguarding culture that helps to protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse and exploitation.
As a subsidiary of Christ Church Birmingham, we are registered with Thirtyone:eight, a specialist umbrella organisation that provides safeguarding advice and guidance to churches and Christian organisations. This gives us access to support and training and ensures that our policies and procedures remain top to date and reflect best sector practices.
If you would like a copy of our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures or want to know more about safeguarding at Grace City or if you are concerned about the welfare of a child or adult at risk and want to discuss this further, please contact our designated safeguarding lead, Steve Wicking.
Alternatively, you can contact the designated safeguarding Board Member for Christ Church Birmingham, Sarah Sidwell at hello@livinghopewestbrom.org.
